Bangkok: A spokesperson for the Bhumjaithai Party revealed they are still closely monitoring all news sources and have not yet received any contact from the Prachachon Party. They believe that the party still has a way forward in Thai politics, even if the people don’t join hands with anyone.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Nan Bunthida Somchai, MP for Ubon Ratchathani and spokesperson for the Bhumjaithai Party, addressed rumors of a cabinet meeting regarding the dissolution of Parliament. She stated that she still maintains her position, as stated in an interview yesterday, that each party has its legal duties and that Bhumjaithai is acting according to the rules. She also awaits answers on various matters. Although there have been rumors of a parliamentary dissolution this week, she is following developments from various perspectives, but she will not make any definitive statements regarding the final outcome of Thai politics.
Regarding the Pheu Thai Party’s situation, it’s impossible to predict, as each party has a different stance and internal and external circumstances vary. If the Prachachon Party doesn’t vote for anyone, Bhumjaithai respects all parties and believes that the Thai political system still has a way forward. Bhumjaithai hasn’t reached a dead end. They haven’t received any notification from the Prachachon Party yet, so they are following the news and continuing to carry out their duties as usual.
When asked by reporters if the People’s Party would return to working with the Pheu Thai Party if it didn’t elect anyone, the Bhumjaithai spokesperson said, “That’s a matter for the future. We live in the present. As for who to join, I think the party leader has given numerous interviews and would prefer not to discuss it. Judging from recent events, he’s uncertain whether the current outlook remains unchanged. However, he initially believes there’s a way forward, and everyone in every party will continue to carry out their duties as usual.”
