“Bhumtham” Holds Special Cabinet Meeting to Appoint Acting Prime Minister

Bangkok: “Bhumtham” held a special cabinet meeting to appoint an acting prime minister. Minister Klathum left the party. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, chaired a special Cabinet meeting to request a Cabinet resolution to appoint an Acting Prime Minister. He also requested a Cabinet resolution to approve the Cabinet’s performance of duties following the Constitutional Court’s ruling that Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra’s ministerial term had ended and the entire Cabinet was terminated.

According to Thai News Agency, reporters reported that seven ministers called off the special cabinet meeting: 1. Ms. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Education; 2. Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Minister of Public Health; 3. Mr. Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives; 4. Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Finance; 5. Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Minister of Commerce; 6. Mr. Akara Prompao, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives; and 7. Mr. Suchart Tancharoen, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office.
