Bangkok: Keep an eye on “Bhumtham” as he prepares to propose to the Cabinet the appointment of a new “Director-General of the Department of Lands”.
According to Thai News Agency, at the upcoming Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, August 5th, Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, acting as Prime Minister, is set to propose a new Director-General of the Land Department for Cabinet approval. This proposal is aligned with the initiative to begin the process of revoking the Khao Kradong land in accordance with established guidelines.
The expected candidate to take over the position of Director-General of the Land Department is Mr. Chettha Mosikarat. Currently serving as Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Mosikarat also holds the role of Chairman of the Committee investigating the Director-General’s Order concerning the Non-Revocation of Title Deeds for land in the Khao Kradong and Samet Subdistricts, Mueang Buriram District, Buriram Province. This appointment follows the request for transfer submitted by Mr. Phonpoj Penpas, the former Director-General.
Additionally, attention is drawn to the potential appointment of replacements for 13 provincial governors who are set to retire on October 1st, as decisions in this regard may also be forthcoming.
