Bhutan’s King and Queen Pay Respects to Late Thai Queen Mother

Bangkok: Their Majesties King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck of Bhutan formally paid their respects to the late Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother of Thailand on Wednesday.

According to Thai News Agency, the royal couple arrived at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace shortly before 10 a.m. to lay a wreath before the Royal Urn of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, who passed away on October 24, 2025. Following this, the King and Queen of Bhutan signed a book of condolences, expressing their profound sorrow over the passing of the Thai Queen Mother.

Later on Wednesday evening, the Bhutanese monarchs are scheduled to attend the Royal Chanting Ceremony for the Royal Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall. Meanwhile, members of the Thai public from across the country continued to converge on the Grand Palace grounds for the third consecutive day to pay their respects before the royal portrait of the late Queen Mother and to sign the book of condolences at Sahathai Samakhom Hall.

Thais are mourning the loss of a revered figure, recalling her long and dedicated service to the well-being of the Thai people and the development of the nation.
