“Big Lek” Strengthens Military Ties Amidst Thai-Cambodian Border Conflict

Bangkok: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, acting as Prime Minister, has highlighted the efforts of “Big Lek” in enhancing military connections. Despite the ongoing Thai-Cambodian border conflict, there is currently no consideration for appointing a new Minister of Defense.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham emphasized that the current priority is addressing the situation with Cambodia, noting that the collaboration between the two countries is progressing effectively. Deputy Defense Minister General Nattapol Nakphanit, serving as acting Minister of Defense, is recognized for maintaining strong military ties and effectively defending against threats. Mr. Phumtham affirmed that there’s no immediate need to appoint a new Minister of Defense, as the current leadership is successfully managing the defense strategy and fostering cooperative efforts to counter threats facing the nation.
