Bangkok: “Big Tao” is set to summon an 80s influencer and singer to clarify their involvement with Mr. Alongkot, amidst ongoing investigations. Investigators are also questioning a close associate of Dr. B, who transferred a car to him, in a bid to determine potential exoneration avenues.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Charoonkiat Pankaew, Deputy Commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, provided updates on the investigation into the financial transactions linked to Mr. Alongkot, the former abbot of Wat Phra Bat Nam Phu. The probe aims to determine any connections between the temple’s and Mr. Alongkot’s financial dealings with other individuals. If any such involvement is detected, a summons will be issued for them to present clarifications to the police, anticipated within the week. The investigation has identified assets linked to Mr. Alongkot, valued at approximately 3 billion baht, involving several individuals. While summonses have been issued for information, specific details remain undisclosed. The 80s singer has been urged to directly contact the authorities, with instructions to collect evidence and provide clarification this week.
Pol. Col. Anek Taosuphap, Deputy Commander of the Crime Suppression Division, shared progress on the investigation into the embezzlement network concerning Wat Phra Bat Nam Phu donations. Investigators have summoned Mr. Seksan’s father, known as Mr. B, for questioning due to his close association with the van transfer to his caretaker. Police inquired about Dr. B’s actions, suggesting asset transfers to an associate for self-exoneration amid police scrutiny. The investigation continues to ascertain potential legal consequences for Dr. B’s father.
Further inquiries into Mr. Alongkot’s close associates unveiled his possession of land title deeds. Mr. Alongkot has shown a significant interest in land investments, using associates to purchase properties for profit, with proceeds returned to him upon sale. Various assets, including cash and land title deeds seized from the network, have been transferred to AMLO officials for examination.
