Border Patrol Seizes 12 kg of Crystal Methamphetamine in Trang Province

Bangkok: Border Patrol Police seized 12 kg of crystal methamphetamine worth 500,000 baht, awaiting delivery to a customer near a canal in Tambon Ban Pho, Amphoe Mueang, Trang Province, but the perpetrators fled, abandoning all the crystal methamphetamine.

According to Thai News Agency, the 43rd Border Patrol Police Narcotics Suppression Unit and the 435th Border Patrol Police Company seized 12 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, valued at 500,000 baht, in white animal feed bags placed under trees by the canal on Phetkasem Road, Tambon Ban Pho, Amphoe Mueang, Trang Province. The arresting team had received information that a drug trafficking network in Trang Province was planning to deliver a large batch of crystal methamphetamine to the area last night, April 15.

The police laid in wait, but observed no movement from the drug gang. Upon inspection, they discovered the aforementioned evidence and seized it. It is believed that the person scheduled to receive the drugs may have realized the situation and decided to abandon the crystal methamphetamine. The investigation revealed that this drug trafficking network communicated to buy and sell via mobile phone, arranging locations for pick-up and delivery, with different individuals taking responsibility for various stages of the operation. Authorities are continuing their investigation in order to apprehend those involved.
