Border Situation in Seven Provinces Eases Amid Warnings Against Fake News

Bangkok: The border situation in seven provinces has shown signs of easing, prompting a public advisory to disregard fake news that has been leading people to evacuate unnecessarily.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, has clarified that the information circulating on social media regarding a supposed evacuation warning by the Royal Thai Army due to increased tensions on the Thai-Cambodian border is entirely false and without foundation.

The Anti-Fake News Center of Thailand, in collaboration with the Second Army Region’s Facebook page, has confirmed that the Royal Thai Army has not issued any such announcement. The current border condition under the Suranaree Task Force remains normal, with only routine surveillance and monitoring being conducted. No incidents of clashes or fighting have been reported in the area.

The government strongly advises the public to refrain from believing or disseminating false information and emphasizes the importance of relying solely on news from government agencies or official media sources. The administration, along with the Royal Thai Army, continues to prioritize national security and the safety of all citizens residing in border areas.
