Sisaket: The Royal Thai Army has reported ongoing hostilities at the Thai-Cambodian border, with confrontations continuing until dawn. Cambodia initiated a bomb attack on Prasat Ta Kwai and disrupted the Phu Makhuea area throughout the night, while another clash erupted in the Sam Tae area.
According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Army Spokesperson Col. Richa Suksuwanon disclosed that despite a recent ceasefire agreement between Acting Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai and General Hun Sen, Cambodian forces continued their assault late into the night of July 28. The Royal Thai Army received reports from units in the Suranaree Army area that Cambodian provocations and exchanges of fire persisted into the morning hours in the Phu Makhuea sector. The Sam Tae area, located in Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, witnessed firefights extending until 5:30 a.m.
The 2nd Army Area reported explosions in the Prasat Ta Kwai area, Phanom Dong Rak District, Sisaket Province, at approximately 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM. Throughout the night, Cambodian soldiers persistently engaged Thai forces in the Phu Makhuea area, resulting in a continuous exchange of fire.
In Sam Tae, firefights continued until early morning, with Cambodian forces employing grenades to sustain their offensive throughout the night.
