Border Villagers in Ban Kruat District Register for Compensation Amid Ongoing Fear

Ban kruat: Border villagers in Ban Kruat District are gradually registering for financial aid, but say they still live with fear. Border villagers in Ban Kruat District, who fled the fighting along the Thai-Cambodian border, are continuing to submit their documents to register for financial assistance in response to the situation, in accordance with the Cabinet’s announcement of an emergency disaster relief zone in seven Thai-Cambodian border provinces: Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, Surin, Buriram, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat.

According to Thai News Agency, in Ban Kruat District, over 19,000 households in nine sub-districts have been affected. Currently, over 7,000 households have registered for financial assistance. Villagers expressed their joy at the government’s assistance during the period they had to flee the fighting, which left them unable to earn a living. However, they continue to live in fear due to the tense situation along the border.
