Lan sak: A brave soldier recounts the incident where a bomb from the Cambodian side fell on the spot where his troops were stationed, causing injuries.
According to Thai News Agency, a news team visited Lan Sak District, Uthai Thani Province, home of 24-year-old Sergeant Preecha Suebua, the rifle platoon leader of the 1st Infantry Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, at Camp Jiraprawat in Nakhon Sawan Province. He recounted his survival from the bombing at Phu Makhuea, Sisaket Province, on July 28th. While stationed in a bunker, he heard mortar fire from the Cambodian side and hurriedly retreated halfway to allow his men to hide inside. However, a shell exploded, knocking him unconscious. The blast injured Sergeant Preecha’s left eye while he was on duty, along with three other soldiers.
Sergeant Preecha also stated, “If I have to suffer any injuries, I will accept them, but I will not renounce my nation.” He also revealed that he has contacted his superiors to request a return to duty. Although he has been ordered to rest and recover, he is ready to return to fight for his country immediately if necessary. Sergeant Preecha and his family believe that the power of Luang Por Derm, Luang Por Yu, and the tiger skin of Wat Phanom Set Nuea in Nakhon Sawan Province, as well as Luang Por Klueab of Wat Nong Kradi in Uthai Thani Province, have protected him.
