Bang saen: Tourists were amazed to see a family of Bryde’s whales playing in the sea at Bang Saen and Khao Sam Muk. Officials revealed that the whales escaped from the western coast to find food because the area is rich in marine resources.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ekasak Sermsri, a white shark marine lifeguard, captured footage of the Bryde’s whales feeding in the coastal waters of Chonburi Province, from Khao Sam Muk to Bang Phra. He explained that the group had migrated from the western coast of Ban Laem to feed in the Bang Saen area, known for its abundance of marine resources. Officials from the Department of Fisheries and Marine and Natural Resources have issued a warning about the presence of Bryde’s whales in the Bang Saen area, advising local fishermen to avoid operating boats in regions where the whales are found.
From the survey, it was noted that there were six whales, whereas previously only four were observed. Tourists and fishermen interested in viewing Bryde’s whales are encouraged to contact local fishermen or reach out to Mr. Ekasak Sermsri at the provided telephone number, 083-5985515.
