BTS Donates 100 Million Baht to Aid Those Affected by Thai-Cambodian Border Unrest

Bangkok: BTS Skytrain has extended support by donating 100 million baht to aid personnel and citizens impacted by the unrest along the Thai-Cambodian border. Mr. Keeree Kanjanapas, Chairman of Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTS), spearheaded the donation initiative alongside the company’s executives, contributing 50 million baht to the government for relief efforts.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Acting Prime Minister, accepted the donation at the Purple Room, Thai Khu Fa Building, Government House. The financial assistance, channeled through the “Prime Minister’s Office Disaster Relief Fund,” is intended to help those affected by the border unrest regain normalcy swiftly.

On August 7, 2025, BTS executives plan to present an additional 50 million baht to the Royal Thai Army, Royal Thai Navy, and Royal Thai Air Force. This donation aims to support personnel injured, disabled, or deceased due to the unrest, as well as their families. The total financial support thus reaches 100 million baht.

Mr. Kiri expressed his commitment to the nation and his intent to honor the bravery and sacrifice of Thai soldiers. He emphasized the importance of supporting affected individuals along the border and encouraged public and agency contributions to assist frontline personnel. He expressed hope for a quick return to normalcy, acknowledging that financial contributions are a small gesture compared to the sacrifices made by military personnel and affected citizens.
