Buriram: Residents in three additional districts of Buriram Province have been ordered to evacuate due to escalating clashes and an expanded radius of weapon impact. Temples, schools, temporary shelters, and two hospitals have been evacuated, leaving only emergency units operational.
According to Thai News Agency, gunfire, explosions, and artillery shell impacts were reported between 2-3 pm in Lahan Sai District. Consequently, an evacuation order was issued for residents in Lahan Sai, Chaloem Phra Kiat, and Non Din Daeng districts, advising them to relocate to safer areas or shelters outside the range of artillery and heavy weaponry. Many families arranged for their children to assist in relocating them, while others without private transportation were aided by vehicles arranged by various agencies.
The evacuation also impacted medical facilities, with Lahan Sai Hospital and Chaloem Phrakiat Hospital relocating patients and instructing medical staff to withdraw, maintaining only emergency units to facilitate the transfer of patients to safer locations. Additionally, 85 schools in the border areas of Ban Kruat and Lahan Sai districts have been closed indefinitely as a precautionary measure.
