Bangkok: The Cabinet has announced significant leadership changes within key departments under the Ministry of Interior. Kajornkiat has been appointed as the Director-General of the Department of Lands, and Chettha has been appointed as the Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
According to Thai News Agency, these appointments are part of a broader strategy approved by the Cabinet, which involves the rotation and replacement of high-level administrative positions within the Ministry of Interior. Chachoengsao Governor Khajornkiat will replace Pornpoj, who will now serve as Deputy Permanent Secretary. Chettha, who previously held the position of Deputy Permanent Secretary, has been appointed to lead the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), succeeding Phasakon, who has been appointed as Governor of Rayong.
Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, confirmed that these changes are aimed at enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Ministry. The appointments include Mr. Phonphot Penpas, who will serve as Deputy Permanent Secretary, and Mr. Traiphop Wongtrairat, who has been appointed as Governor of Phetchaburi Province.
The reshuffling also sees Mr. Santi Rangsiruchi taking on the role of Governor of Chachoengsao Province. These changes are effective immediately following the gracious appointment by His Majesty.
