Cabinet Approves Pol. Lt. Col. Prawut as Director-General of the Department of Corrections

Bangkok: The Cabinet has appointed Pol. Lt. Col. Prawut Wongsinil as the Director-General of the Department of Corrections. This decision is part of a broader reshuffle that includes new leadership for both the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Justice.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Sasikarn Wattanachan, Deputy Government Spokesperson, announced the Cabinet’s resolution to appoint three senior officials as proposed by the Ministry of Public Health. Dr. Nattapol Wongwiwat has been appointed as Director-General of the Department of Medical Services, Pharmacist Supattra Bunserm as Secretary-General of the Food and Drug Administration, and Dr. Sarawut Bunsuk as Director-General of the Department of Medical Sciences. These appointments will be effective from October 1.

The Cabinet also approved several key appointments within the Ministry of Justice. Pol. Lt. Col. Prawut Wongsinil, formerly Director-General of the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection, has been appointed as Director-General of the Department of Corrections. In addition, Mr. Triyarit Temhiwong has been appointed as Director-General of the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection, Ms. Rawiwan Chaturaphitphon has been appointed as Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, and Pol. Lt. Col. Suriya Singhakamol, formerly Director-General of the Department of Probation, has been appointed as Secretary-General of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board.
