Sa Kaeo: A Cambodian man has been apprehended by Sa Kaeo Immigration Police while attempting to transport 1.5 million Thai baht across the border into Cambodia. The arrest took place at the Ban Khlong Luek border checkpoint in Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province, and the man is now under investigation for possible involvement with a call center gang.
According to Thai News Agency, the suspect, identified as Mr. Cheng, 45, from Cambodia, was detained after officers noticed his suspicious behavior. Upon searching his belongings, authorities discovered 400,000 baht in bundles of 1,000 baht Thai banknotes, along with an additional 1.1 million baht concealed in a cream-colored cloth bag. The total amount found exceeded the legal limit of 450,000 baht that can be legally transported out of Thailand.
Mr. Cheng initially claimed that the money was withdrawn from a bank in Rong Kluea Market to purchase goods in Cambodia. However, the officers were skeptical of his explanation and suspected a connection to a cal
l center gang. Consequently, the money was confiscated for further examination, and Mr. Cheng was taken into custody for prosecution.
