Sisaket: Cambodian soldiers approached the Phu Phi fence, prompting a warning from the Thai side. In response, the Cambodians fired guns into the air.
According to Thai News Agency, Lt. Gen. Boonsin Phadklang, commander of the 2nd Army Region, reported that at 1:30 PM, Thai military personnel observed Cambodian soldiers nearing Thai territory in the Phu Phi area of Sao Thong Chai subdistrict, Kantharalak district. Upon receiving a warning from the Thai forces, the Cambodian soldiers fired their service rifles into the air. This led to a response from the Thai military, compelling the Cambodian soldiers, identified as possibly belonging to the 2-3 group, to retreat.
The situation has since returned to normal, with the Second Army Region maintaining vigilant observation of Cambodian activities. Lt. Gen. Boonsin confirmed ongoing monitoring efforts, particularly concerning any clandestine placement of mines by Cambodian forces. Measures are in place to address any further incidents along the border.
