Chachoengsao: Chachoengsao Province has initiated measures to combat drug activities in response to the directive from Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, the Minister of Interior. The province is focusing on the Seal Stop Safe measures to curb drug-related offenses.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Khajornkiat Rakphanichmanee, the Governor of Chachoengsao Province, alongside Mr. Thiraphol Summat, District Chief of Bang Nam Priao, and Pol. Col. Nattapol Akaraen, Superintendent of Bang Nam Priao Police Station, announced the arrest of a 44-year-old man. This individual, a manager at J and T Express Co., Ltd., was apprehended in a warehouse where he was discovered to be distributing methamphetamine and crystal meth to local workers and shipping these substances to other provinces.
The governor emphasized that the government and the Ministry of Interior’s drug prevention policy, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, is being implemented across all provinces. Chachoengsao Province, in collaboration with administrative and security police, successfully targeted a medium-sized drug trader operating under the guise of a private transportation business.
The investigation led to a search of a commercial building in Bang Nam Priao District, where authorities found over 17,000 methamphetamine pills, 65.9 grams of crystal methamphetamine, an unregistered 9 mm firearm, 50 rounds of ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and packaging materials for drug distribution. The suspect admitted to purchasing the pills for 10 baht each and selling them for 20 baht each. A background check revealed prior incarcerations for drug offenses, with the suspect citing greed as the motivation for his return to criminal activity.
Further investigations are planned with the aim of transforming Chachoengsao into a drug-free zone, improving the quality of life for its residents.
