Bangkok: “Chaiwat” reiterates the Palang Pracharath Party’s clear resolution not to accept any draft amnesty bill. “Chaiwat” believes that the draft of the amnesty bill that will be passed must not contain the amnesty content, Section 112, reiterates the resolution of the Palang Pracharath Party clearly not to accept any draft, throwing the blame on other political parties to decide among themselves because he does not want to cause a debate.
According to Thai News Agency, Chaiwat Thanakamanusorn, deputy leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, spoke about the case of the amnesty bill, which will be considered in the House of Representatives today. He personally thinks that it is unlikely to be a political game, with the Pheu Thai Party withdrawing the Entertainment Complex bill and postponing the amnesty bill, which was proposed by the Move Forward Party (originally) and then changed to the Prachachon Party to propose instead. He thinks that it is just a coincidence.
Mr. Chaiwat added that the draft amnesty bill that will be considered today may only pass the parliament for the draft amnesty related to political gatherings because it is considered a part of the democratic system. However, he insisted that it must not contain content related to Section 112, especially in the case of gatherings of some groups that many people do not agree with because it affects the institution. Therefore, this draft is unlikely to pass the parliament. However, everything depends on the government side that holds the majority.
Meanwhile, Mr. Chaiwat also reiterated the Palang Pracharath Party’s position that it will not accept any draft amnesty bill, and stated that other political parties should discuss it among themselves. He did not want conflict or debate in the House of Representatives.
