Chaiyaphum: The head of Tad Ton Waterfall National Park has issued a warning to tourists to refrain from swimming near the waterfall after heavy rains triggered the worst flash floods of the year.
According to Thai News Agency, the head of Tad Ton Waterfall National Park in Mueang Chaiyaphum District reported that heavy rains in the Phu Lan mountain range have caused flash floods to overflow into both the Upper and Lower Lam Phatthao Dams. The dams, which can hold 16 million cubic meters of water, have now exceeded their storage capacity and overflowed the spillway by 12 centimeters, requiring a rapid discharge of 300,000 cubic meters per day.
In addition, continuous rainfall has caused the heaviest flash floods of the year at Tad Ton Waterfall. Fearing danger, the park has issued a complete ban on swimming in the upper Tad Ton Waterfall area near the cliff. However, visitors are still welcome to enjoy a meal, enjoy the view, and take photos.
