Chancellor Inaugurates Abdurrahman Mosque, Diponegoro University

Diponegoro University (Undip) Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, SH, M. Hum., has just inaugurated the Undip Abdurrahman Mosque which is located next to the Widya Puraya Rectorate Building, Undip Tembalang campus on Tuesday (19/04) at 17.00 WIB. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Vice Chancellors, Chair of the Academic Senate, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and Officials at Diponegoro University.

In his speech, Undip Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, SH, M. Hum., said that the naming of the Abdurrahman Mosque was inspired by the figure of the Prophet and also the Hadith, that Allah SWT likes 2 names, namely Abdullah and Abdurrahman. “The name Abdurrahman reminds me of the Messenger of Allah as a ‘servant of syakura’, a servant who is always grateful. Now we want to be loving servants, Abdurrahman.” he said.

The presence of the Abdurrahman Mosque is expected to be a spirit of compassion for others. “The spirit of loving others, God willing, always brings Undip to the right track. And Alhamdulillah, we feel that Undip’s development is always increasing. Therefore, the spirit of love underlies the construction of this mosque and hopefully it will be a blessing.” explained Prof. Yos.

“Let’s prosper with this mosque. The prosperity of this mosque is when we i’tikaf here and read the Qur’an. Hopefully this mosque is a reminder that at any time we will be held accountable so we work as well as possible. Malayu bantering the world by yo by, but uploading banter ning dhuwur yo is important .” continued Prof. Yos.

Previously, Deputy Chancellor II of Resources Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Heru Susanto, ST, MM, MT, in his report explained that the construction of the Abdurrahman Mosque began in December and lasted approximately 5 months. In addition, the Abdurrahman Mosque has a capacity of about 80 people and has a total area of ​​140m 2 .

Furthermore, Prof. Heru hopes that the presence of the Abdurrahman Mosque will bring Undip employees closer to Allah SWT and become individuals who match the name of the mosque. “Alhamdulillah, we have a mosque, one of the places where we can get closer to Allah SWT and hopefully that will give us blessings for all the activities we do because we are of course sure that above the achievements that God willing we have achieved there is the intervention of Allah SWT. . Hopefully we will become individuals who match the name of the given mosque.” said Prof. Heru.

Then the event continued with the symbolic handover of a grant from Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, SH, M. Hum. to Diponegoro University in the form of 10 large Qur’ans, 10 pieces of Al-Qu’ran per Juz, 10 pieces of Al-Qu’ran reading table, 10 sarongs, and 3 prayer chairs.
