Charges Filed Following Violent Incident at Rama 9 Condo

Bangkok: Police have filed two charges against a man who smashed the door of a condo in the Rama 9 area, causing distress to the young owner of the room. The individual was tested for three types of drugs, with results coming back negative.

According to Thai News Agency, the condo owner, who was attacked by a man from the same building wielding a knife, met with Pol. Col. Phasit Kateungngan, Superintendent of Din Daeng Police Station. Pol. Col. Phasit revealed that the incident stemmed from an argument between a husband and wife. Patrol officers were dispatched to manage the situation, during which the wife informed them that her husband had injured himself with a knife. Additional reinforcements were called to the scene.

Upon the reinforcements’ arrival, the man had already moved to the lobby. Officers conducted preliminary questioning and transported him to a nearby hospital for first aid. Initially, the police were unaware of the connection between this incident and a social media post by the victim, as condo management had reported it as a domestic dispute.

As the situation became clearer, police explained to the victim the reasons for not entering the room immediately. They summoned the perpetrator to acknowledge charges of attempted trespassing and causing a nuisance. Knife-related charges remain under consideration.

Regarding the physical examination, police stated that no tests were conducted on the night of the incident due to the initial report of a domestic quarrel. However, subsequent drug tests for ecstasy, methamphetamine, and ketamine returned negative, confirming no substances were present in the perpetrator’s body.
