Chatchai Sirilai Elected as Chairman of Government Financial Institutions Association

Bangkok: The Government Bank Association has unanimously elected Mr. Chatchai Sirilai, President of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), as the Chairman of the Government Financial Institutions Association.

According to Thai News Agency, the decision was made during the 1/2025 Extraordinary General Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Association of State Financial Institutions, which took place on August 18, 2025. Mr. Chatchai, who was serving as Vice Chairman of the Association, presided over the electronically conducted meeting. The unanimous resolution to appoint him as Chairman followed the resignation of Mr. Witai Ratanakorn, the former Director of the Government Savings Bank, who previously held the position.

Mr. Chatchai will serve the remainder of the term until April 30, 2027. His leadership is expected to continue the strategic objectives of the Government Financial Institutions Association, focusing on promoting, supporting, and advancing the nation. The association also aims to act as a mechanism for driving the country’s economic recovery in alignment with government policy.
