Chiang Rai Constituency 7 By-Election Scheduled for September 14

Chiang rai: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has announced the by-election for Chiang Rai Constituency 7, which will take place on September 14. The election aims to fill the vacant position in the House of Representatives for this constituency.

According to Thai News Agency, the ECT resolved to hold the election following the issuance of a Royal Decree. The election will take place on Sunday, September 14th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The ECT has also outlined the application period for candidates seeking to participate in the election. This period will run from August 13 to August 17, 2025, with applications being accepted at the Chiang Saen District Office Auditorium in Chiang Rai Province, each day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The by-election will cover multiple areas within Constituency 7, including Mae Chan District (specifically Chanchawa Subdistrict and Chanchawa Tai Subdistrict), Chiang Saen District, Doi Luang District, and selected subdistricts within Chiang Khong District. Additionally, voters from Wiang Kaen District will also participate in this election. This scheduled by-election is a significant step in ensuring representation for the residents of these areas in the Thai House of Representatives.
