Bangkok: Chonburi is ready to host the 33rd SEA Games, featuring a total of 19 sports and one demonstration sport. The Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) is collaborating with the province to organize a roadshow event to generate excitement.
According to Thai News Agency, Chonburi Province is set to welcome the SEA Games, with major sports including women’s football, weightlifting, and water sports. The facilities are fully prepared for the event. The Governor of SAT is working closely with Chonburi Province to organize a roadshow to raise awareness about the SEA Games in Chonburi.
The SEA Games, hosted by Thailand, will take place from December 9-20, 2025, with Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla serving as the main host cities. A meeting was held at Chonburi City Hall, chaired by Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of SAT, and Mr. Amnat Charoensri, Deputy Governor of Chonburi Province, to review preparations. Dr. Yodmanee and his team inspected key venues, including Chonburi Provincial Stadium and the Pattaya Indoor Athletics Building, and visited the Ocean Marina Yacht Club for the sailing competition.
Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee expressed confidence in Chonburi’s potential and appreciated its cooperation in hosting the SEA Games. He confirmed that the SAT central office is ready to support Chonburi in ensuring a successful event. A roadshow to promote the SEA Games will be held at Central Sriracha on October 19, 2025.
Mr. Amnat Charoensri emphasized that Chonburi is fully prepared for the SEA Games, with venues, accommodations, security, and traffic management in place. The province will continue to adhere to government policy and plan public relations for the event.
Chonburi, as a co-host, will feature sports such as aquatics, billiards, cycling, rowing, horseback riding, extreme sports, floorball, women’s football, golf, handball, hockey, modern pentathlon, sailing, tactical shooting, teqball, beach volleyball, weightlifting, woodball, and triathlon. The demonstration sport will be air sports (paragliding).
