Chusak Considers Withdrawing Entertainment Complex Act Draft Amid Cabinet Reshuffle Discussion

Bangkok: “Chusak” admits to considering withdrawing the Entertainment Complex Act draft because the new cabinet reshuffle needs to be discussed thoroughly first. Reveals that next week, the House will discuss the first draft of the referendum.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chusak Sirinil, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office and a Pheu Thai Party-list MP, gave an interview about the parliament’s consideration of the bill next week. Mr. Chusak said that he saw that the agenda would be postponed to approve the referendum bill first, and he expected that the amnesty bill would be considered next week because it was the next in line.

When asked whether the government’s stance on the amnesty bill is that it must not include Section 112, Mr. Chusak said that the parties are discussing it and are requesting a resolution from the coalition parties.

When asked about the draft bill on the operation of entertainment complexes, Mr. Chusak said that he is considering whether to postpone or withdraw it. Normally, the withdrawal must be approved by the House of Representatives, except if the House does not object, then it can be withdrawn.

When asked what made him start thinking about withdrawing the draft, Mr. Chusak said that in this situation, the government probably thought that there was a cabinet reshuffle and new ministers were coming in, so they should discuss this matter thoroughly first and check whether it was sufficient or not.
