Bangkok: The Ministry of Commerce is continuing to promote innovative agricultural products, expanding markets, and opening pop-up stores, targeting foreigners, to help Thai products go international.
According to Thai News Agency, the Department of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce, is promoting Thai entrepreneurs and elevating Thai innovative agricultural products internationally. In collaboration with King Power, the "Nature for Future: Agriculture + Innovation" pop-up counter will showcase and sell Thai innovative agricultural products at King Power Rangnam. The aim is to attract more international audiences to learn about these innovative agricultural products.
Mr. Chantavit Tantasith, Deputy Minister of Commerce, revealed that the 'Nature for Future: Agriculture + Innovation' pop-up counter is organized under the concept of 'Cultivated in Thailand, Innovated for the World.' The event aims to promote the image and distribution channels of Thai innovative agricultural products internationally. In collaboration with King Power, the event will distribute potential Thai innovative agricultural products to both international and Thai buyers. These products include food and lifestyle products, selected from 'Agri Plus Award'-winning products and innovative products to promote the value-added of Thai agricultural products. The 'Nature for Future: Agriculture + Innovation' pop-up counter, which sells innovative agricultural products, is scheduled to run from today until September 21, 2025, on the first floor of King Power Rangnam. The Ministry of Commerce, through the Department of Foreign Trade, has selected over 60 award-winning and finalist Thai agricultural products fro m over 30 entrepreneurs with potential for export. These include starch-free rice made from seaweed fiber, Thai GI fruit-flavored herbal effervescent tablets, and organic Lanna black rice granola. Mango sticky rice tablets, innovative cream gel made from Thai herbal compresses, Thai herbal toothpaste tablets, bags and shoes made from upcycled rice straw, and many more. Each product reflects the creativity in combining nature with innovation and technology, and has its own unique identity to add value to Thai agricultural products, making them accessible and meeting the needs of modern consumers who care about health, nature and the environment, sustainability, and style, while simultaneously enhancing the quality of life for Thai farmers and entrepreneurs sustainably.
The Deputy Minister of Commerce added, 'The Ministry of Commerce prioritizes the development and expansion of Thai agricultural products from 'commodities' to 'innovative' products, following the concept of 'market-led, innovation-enhanced, and income-increasing'. The Ministry is ready to promote Thai farmers' income growth and develop SMEs and entrepreneurs of Thai innovative agricultural products to be strong and ready to go international and enter the global market with stability and sustainability. In 2024, the Ministry of Commerce, through the Department of Foreign Trade, conducted activities to promote and expand the market for innovative agricultural products to international markets, with a total promoted trade value of 367 million baht. We are confident that the trade value of innovative agricultural products will definitely increase. This pop-up counter activity will play an important role in promoting Thai innovative agricultural products, which are quality products that can be used as gifts and so uvenirs from Thailand.'
