Bangkok: “Achariya” has lodged a formal complaint with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) against the Government Lottery Office, citing unfair practices in the distribution of lottery ticket quotas.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Atchariya Ruangrattanapong, who serves as the president of the Crime Victim Assistance Association, took the matter to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB). He filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption and Misconduct Division (ACD) against the Director of the Government Lottery Office, accusing him of dereliction of duty under Section 157. The complaint centers on allegations that the Director permitted Kong Salak Plus to acquire over 5 million tickets from small retailers, which contravenes the Government Lottery Office Act.
Mr. Atchariya expressed concerns that this allowance not only undermines small retailers but also enables Kong Salak Plus to sell lottery tickets at higher prices, directly competing with government-issued tickets. He also questioned the legitimacy of Kongsalak Plus’s claims that a first prize winner has emerged in every draw since October 2024, with total winnings exceeding 100 million baht, suggesting these claims are improbable.
In an earlier action, Mr. Atchariya had filed a separate complaint against the executives of Kongsalak Plus Company for selling lottery tickets above market value. This complaint was lodged with the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD), which has already begun legal proceedings.
Mr. Atchariya warns that if the Director of the Government Lottery Office fails to cancel the quota and take action against Kong Salak Plus for its practices, he will continue to file complaints with each draw until corrective measures are instituted.
