Cool Mornings and Heavy Rains Forecasted Across Thailand

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has released a weather forecast indicating that while the North and Northeast regions of Thailand will begin experiencing cool mornings, some areas in the South will face heavy rainfall.

According to Thai News Agency, the North and Northeast will see a drop in temperatures and strong winds due to a moderate high-pressure system originating from China, which has already spread to southern China and northern Vietnam. This system is anticipated to extend into upper Laos and the upper Northeast of Thailand today.

The forecast also highlights that easterly winds over the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea will bring thunderstorms and heavy rain, especially in Phatthalung, Songkhla, and Pattani provinces. Residents in these areas are urged to be cautious of accumulated rain and exercise care when traveling through flooded regions. Meanwhile, people in upper Thailand are advised to prioritize their health amidst the changing weather conditions.

In maritime news, wave heights in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are expected to reach about 1 meter, with areas experiencing thunderstorms seeing waves exceeding 2 meters. Mariners are advised to proceed with caution and avoid sailing in regions affected by thunderstorms.

Tropical Storm Fengshen, currently positioned over the upper South China Sea, is forecasted to intensify and move towards southern Hainan Island, China, and the coast of central Vietnam between October 22-23. However, it is expected to weaken rapidly due to the influence of a cold air mass from China. The storm is not predicted to enter Thailand.

In Bangkok and its surrounding areas, residents can expect a 10% chance of rain with thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from a minimum of 25-26 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 34-35 degrees Celsius.
