Bangkok: The weather in northern Thailand is expected to remain cool with morning fog, as reported by the Meteorological Department. Meanwhile, the southern region is anticipated to experience heavy rain in certain areas.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department forecasts that for the next 24 hours, a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China, currently covering the upper part of Thailand and the South China Sea, is beginning to weaken. This will continue to result in cool weather with morning fog in the upper regions of Thailand. Residents are advised to take care of their health due to the changing weather conditions. A monsoon trough is currently affecting the lower southern region and Malaysia, coupled with a moderate northeast monsoon over the upper Gulf of Thailand and upper southern region, leading to heavy rain in some southern areas. Residents are cautioned about potential dangers from heavy and accumulated rainfall, which could lead to flash floods and forest runoff, especi
ally in hillside areas near waterways and lowlands. Sea conditions in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea remain moderate, with waves reaching 1-2 meters in the Gulf and around 1 meter in the Andaman Sea. Waves in areas with thunderstorms may exceed 2 meters, prompting sailors to proceed with caution.
Additionally, the tropical storm ‘Yinxing’ in the upper South China Sea is advancing towards the central coast of Vietnam. It is anticipated to weaken into a depression and subsequently a strong low-pressure cell. Concurrently, the tropical storm ‘Toraji’ is also progressing towards Hainan Island, China, and southern China, expected to weaken over November 14-15, 2024. Neither storm is projected to impact Thailand directly. Travelers planning to visit these regions are advised to monitor weather updates before traveling during these dates.
