Bangkok: The Customs Department cracks down on illegal goods in June, worth over 146 million baht. Total for fiscal year 68, various types of drugs seized worth over 944 million baht.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Panthong Loykulnan, spokesman of the Customs Department, revealed that throughout June 2025, the Customs Department suppressed the smuggling of illegal goods, working with relevant agencies, resulting in the seizure of illegal goods worth a total of more than 146 million baht. Important cases of interest include the seizure of drugs, foreign cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and cannabis buds. Interesting results include the Mae Sot Customs Checkpoint inspecting 4 suspicious trucks and finding Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine) totaling 79,752 pills, worth approximately 7.9 million baht. The Suvarnabhumi Airport Customs Office found heroin hidden in a stretcher stand, weighing 3 kilograms including the wrapping, worth approximately 900,000 baht. Statistics for fiscal year 2025 (October 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025) seized various types of drugs, such as ice, heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine pills, totaling 165 cases, worth a total of more than 944 million baht.

Statistics for fiscal year 2025 show a total of 439 arrests for smuggling e-cigarettes, with a total of 1,195,171 pieces of evidence seized, with a total value of 133.45 million baht. A total of 1,704 arrests for smuggling foreign cigarettes, with a total of 48.03 million sticks of evidence seized, with a total value of 236.64 million baht. A total of 1,531 arrests for marijuana-related cases, with a total weight of 14,271 kilograms of evidence seized, with a total value of 226 million baht.
