Cyber Police Raid 19 Locations, Dismantle Network of Hun Sen’s Close Associates

Bangkok: Cyber police covered 19 locations in an operation to dismantle mule account networks and target Cambodian capitalists linked to Kok An, known as the Crown Casino godfather and a close associate of Hun Sen. The operation resulted in the seizure of luxury cars and 27 million baht.

According to Thai News Agency, on July 8, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trirong Phiwpaen, Commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD), ordered a coordinated effort involving Pol. Maj. Gen. Wiwat Khamchamnarn, Pol. Maj. Gen. Tingkorn Rangmat, Deputy Commanders of the TCSD, and other key officials. The operation focused on Bangkok, Samut Prakan, and Chonburi to shut down fake accounts and pursue Cambodian capitalists involved in the network.

A significant development occurred in Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province, where authorities used a search warrant from the Criminal Court to gather evidence and arrest Mr. Kok An, owner of the Crown Casino Resort chain. This location served as a base for a major call center gang in Poipet City, which defrauded Thai citizens in Cambodia by engaging in transnational crime and money laundering.

The operation stemmed from an order issued on June 26, 2025, by the Technology Crime Suppression Division, appointing a team to investigate cases related to Criminal Case No. 22/2024, Case No. 287/2024, and Criminal Case No. 243/2025. These cases involved transnational crime organizations with diverse nationalities, operating from various centers in Poipet, Cambodia. The group was involved in online fraud, including Hybrid Scam and Call Center fraud, and used mule accounts and digital currencies for money laundering. Thai workers were coerced into participating in these activities, with some detained abroad.

Investigations revealed that the suspect, a Cambodian national, owned the building utilized by the criminal gang. The suspect was allegedly involved in the transnational criminal organization’s activities, either directly or indirectly. Sufficient evidence supported the allegations, leading investigators to file for an arrest warrant. The Criminal Court approved the request, issuing an arrest warrant dated July 7, 2025.

The operation resulted in the seizure of several cars and 27 million baht in cash from the 19 locations searched. The Cyber Police are expected to release further details later in the afternoon.
