Bangkok: "Decha Isara" has firmly ruled out the possibility of the Democrat Party joining hands with the Bhumjaithai Party to form a government. He expressed that aligning with Bhumjaithai would compromise his integrity, stating that even a hundred coups would be preferable to collusion in the Senate. He emphasized the urgency of addressing the Khao Kradong issue and suggested that parliament could be dissolved within two to three months.
According to Thai News Agency, Decha Isara Khaothong, Secretary-General of the Democrat Party, commented on the situation involving Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai of the Pheu Thai Party. After negotiations with the Prachachon Party, the coalition government accepted all of Prachachon's conditions, which Decha Isara noted was a matter between the Pheu Thai and Prachachon parties, highlighting the necessity for internal discussions.
When questioned about the Democrat Party's acceptance of coalition conditions, Decha Isara confirmed compliance. He indicated that while discussions between Pheu Thai and Prachachon might be on the agenda for the Democrat Party's executive committee meeting, there were already significant items to address.
Addressing his stance on proposals from the People's Party and Pheu Thai Party, Decha Isara expressed agreement, advocating for the dissolution of Parliament to align with public sentiment and allow citizens to choose their leadership. He argued that four months was too long and proposed a two to three-month timeline to dissolve the House.
Decha Isara also addressed corruption issues like the Khao Kradong case, stressing the importance of maintaining royal land integrity. He criticized Senate collusion, arguing that it poses a greater threat than multiple coups, as it centralizes power and undermines national stability.
Reiterating his position on forming a government with Bhumjaithai, Decha Isara stated that supporting such policymakers would strip him of his political identity and humanity.
