Deputy Minister of Defense Arrives in Malaysia for Crucial GBC Meeting

Kuala lumpur: Deputy Minister of Defense, General Nattaphon Nakphanit, along with his delegation, has arrived in Malaysia to participate in the extraordinary meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) between Thailand and Cambodia. This gathering adheres to the core framework of negotiations, underscoring the importance of cross-border collaboration.

According to Thai News Agency, General Nattaphon, acting in his capacity as both Deputy Minister of Defense and a member of the Extraordinary General Border Committee, landed at Subang Military Airport at 8:00 a.m. local time. The arrival time in Malaysia is one hour ahead of Thailand time, marking the start of an important diplomatic engagement for the region.

This morning, General Nattapol is scheduled to pay a courtesy visit to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the current ASEAN Chair. The meeting will take place at the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office, the venue host, before the GBC meeting between Thailand and Cambodia takes place in the afternoon.

The key focus of the meeting is ensuring the safety and well-being of the citizens of both Thailand and Cambodia. The negotiations are set to proceed in accordance with Thai and international law, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the interests and dignity of both nations.
