Bangkok: Deputy Government Spokesperson Ayrin visited the “Half-Half Plus” market in Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province, on the first day of the project. The atmosphere was lively. It is expected that the project will generate over 88 billion baht in revenue nationwide.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ayrin Phanrit, Deputy Government Spokesperson, inspected the readiness of community shops participating in the “Half-Half Plus” project at Nana Charoen Market, A.C. Market, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province, and presented vinyl banners promoting the project to entrepreneurs. This project is a key policy of the government under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, aiming to revitalize the economy and alleviate the cost of living for the people in the immediate term.
The Deputy Government Spokesperson revealed that today marks the first day of the “Half-Half Plus” program. The government invites 20 million eligible citizens to participate in spending via the “Paotang” app. The government will contribute 50%, with the remaining 50% paid by the public. The maximum daily spending limit is 400 baht (with the government contributing a maximum of 200 baht per day). The program runs from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily, from October 29 to December 31, 2025.
Ms. Airin stated that her visit to the area revealed a lively atmosphere. Most shopkeepers expressed interest and excitement for the project. Many expressed confidence that the project would truly boost sales and generate cash flow within the community. She urged the government to consider expanding the project into Phase 2.
The government expects the “Half-Half Plus” program to generate over 88 billion baht in economic circulation and contribute to economic growth of 0.21-0.22 percent by 2025. Those who have not yet received their application in this round can wait for the second phase of applications, which is expected to open in January 2026. Those who missed out on the first round will receive priority.
“The government is committed to the Half-Half Plus project as a measure to stimulate the grassroots economy, reduce the cost of living, and create sustainable economic power for the people,” said Ms. Airin.
