Bangkok: The Director-General of the Provincial Administration has ordered seven border provinces to expedite the disbursement of compensation funds. Mr. Nirat Phongsitthaworn, Director-General of the Department of Local Administration, emphasized the urgency of the situation during a meeting on August 6th.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phongsitthaworn convened the urgent meeting to monitor the progress along the Thai-Cambodian border in seven provinces. The meeting included provincial permanent secretaries, representatives from disaster prevention and mitigation offices, and local government promotion offices.

Mr. Phongsitthaworn has urged all seven provinces to accelerate the disbursement of compensation funds to those affected by the ongoing situation. He stressed the importance of reporting any difficulties directly to the Department of Provincial Administration, ensuring that the department and related agencies are prepared to provide comprehensive support.

He also requested that the progress be reported back to the central government on a daily basis, highlighting the necessity for swift action due to the pressing issues facing migrants and the public.
