Don Mueang Immigration Arrests Malaysian Man Involved in Online Gambling

Bangkok: Immigration arrests Malaysian at Don Mueang, involved in gambling website “HYDRA888”, with a turnover of over 11,520 million baht.

According to Thai News Agency, on July 9, 2025, Don Mueang Airport Immigration Checkpoint officers, under the direction of Pol. Lt. Gen. Phanumas Boonnalak, Commander of the Immigration Bureau, and other senior officials, received information about a suspect with an arrest warrant linked to the gambling website, HYDRA888, arriving in Thailand. The officers were instructed to detain the suspect at the exit gate.

The suspect, identified as Mr. Steven CHOONG SENG LOK, a 26-year-old Malaysian national, was apprehended upon his arrival from Kuala Lumpur at Don Mueang Airport. He is wanted under the Nonthaburi Provincial Court arrest warrant for involvement in an online gambling network and money laundering.

Mr. Steven, who owns Sport Planet Warehouse Co., Ltd., allegedly used the company for money circulation related to the online gambling website ‘HYDRA888’, which reportedly had a financial turnover exceeding 11,520 million baht over the year.

Following the arrest, Mr. Steven was transferred to the Technology Crime Suppression Division 2 (TCSD 2) for further legal proceedings. This arrest aligns with the directive of Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet, the national police chief, emphasizing the need to strengthen measures against international crime, particularly technological crimes and money laundering activities.
