Bangkok: The Dream Stadium project, now in its third year, has embarked on a new venture by collaborating with renowned Thai artists including ‘ALEX FACE’, ‘MXRNIES’, and the ‘DREAMGRAFF’ team led by ‘KANAET’. Together, they have transformed the sports field behind the Phahon Yothin Expressway Tollway (Soi Phra Nang) under the initiative “Dream Stadium: Paint Your Dream Space by Big One”.
According to Thai News Agency, the Dream Stadium project was initiated to address the need for improved public spaces in Bangkok, allowing children and youth to engage in outdoor activities. The project, overseen by Think Curve, aims to revitalize communities by converting neglected areas into vibrant and functional sports fields. Previously, the initiative gained popularity by using artwork from the iconic cartoon ‘Captain Tsubasa’ by Yoichi Takahashi to renovate stadiums across Bangkok.
This year’s concept, Paint Your Dream Space 2025, features the collaboration of Thai street artists who have created unique art on the field. The project, directed by BD Media Solution Company, included community workshops where residents participated in painting the field. The completed field was officially opened to the public on May 30, after a community painting event on May 11.
The opening ceremony was graced by Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, who emphasized the significance of integrating art with public spaces. He highlighted the project’s ability to engage the public and enhance the community’s involvement, making the field a hub for both sports enthusiasts and art lovers.
ALEX FACE, one of the contributing artists, expressed enthusiasm for the project, noting the novelty of painting a sports field. He emphasized the importance of creating spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, encouraging community use and interaction.
Ms. Pavitra Taswichai, CEO of Big One Group, expressed pride in partnering with the Dream Stadium project, highlighting the importance of developing public spaces to improve community life. She noted that the initiative aligns with Big One Group’s commitment to social development and supporting local artists.
The Dream Stadium project continues to demonstrate the potential of combining art and community development, offering a refreshed space for Bangkok’s residents to enjoy and engage with.
