Phetchabun: The Investigation and Intelligence Center of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has apprehended Mr. Chaisit, a suspect linked to the Maemon gambling network, in front of his residence in Pradu Ngam Subdistrict, Si Thep District. He was arrested under Criminal Court warrant No. 1910/2567, issued on April 26, 2567, for multiple offenses, including unauthorized access to bank accounts, organizing gambling activities, and money laundering. During the arrest, officers ensured compliance with the Code of Criminal Procedure, recording images and sound continuously, and informed Mr. Chaisit of his rights and charges as per the Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance Act B.E. 2565. He was subsequently handed over to the special case investigator for further legal proceedings.
According to Thai News Agency, this case, designated as special case number 76/2566, is being handled by the Technology and Information Crime Division. Mr. Chaisit is alleged to have acted as an administrator for the Maemon online gambling network, which reportedly had a turnover exceeding 2 billion baht.
The operation to apprehend suspects with outstanding arrest warrants in this special case is part of a directive from Pol. Maj. Col. Yuthana Phraedam, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation, and Pol. Maj. Col. Chatuphol Bongkochmas, Deputy Director-General. They tasked the Tracing and Intelligence Investigation Center, an agency under their command, with organizing a team to track and arrest suspects, ensuring those accused of crimes are brought into the justice system.
