Samut prakan: The Ministry of Industry has ordered the closure of Fiberpat Paper Factory and Thung Thong Loha Factory in Samut Prakan Province for violating the Factory Act.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Thanakorn Wangboonkhongchana, the Minister of Industry, has dispatched a comprehensive team led by Mr. Thapakorn Kulcharoen, Secretary to the Minister of Industry, to inspect the two factories following public complaints. The Fiberpat Co., Ltd., located in Village No. 11, Bang Sao Thong Subdistrict, Bang Sao Thong District, was found to have several operational discrepancies. These included non-compliance with permits, machinery and wastewater treatment systems that were not ready or safe, improperly stored waste outside the factory, and non-compliant fire safety measures. Additionally, unauthorized machinery was found, and waste was managed without proper permissions.

Thung Thong Loha Inter Co., Ltd., situated in Village No. 8, Si Sa Chorakhe Yai Subdistrict, was found to be operating without proper licenses and failing to meet exhaust inspection standards. Materials were inappropriately stored outside the factory, and environmental testing is underway.

Mr. Thapakorn stated that the Samut Prakan Provincial Industry Office has been tasked with taking legal measures. An order has been issued for immediate improvements or cessation of violations. Factories that comply within the given timeframe may resume operations, but continued violations may lead to temporary shutdowns and possible license revocation.
