Fire Destroys Entire Teak House, Sparing 1 Million Baht Cash on Headboard.

Tak: A fire destroyed a teak house that was used as a shop in the Mae Ramat Municipality Fresh Market in Tak Province. The entire house was damaged. 1 million baht in cash stored on the headboard of the bed was intact. Meanwhile, vendors were chaotically moving their belongings to escape the fire.

According to Thai News Agency, officials mobilized 6 fire engines to spray water to contain the fire that broke out in a large 2-story teak house that was used as a fresh food shop in Mae Ramat Subdistrict Municipality, Tak Province. The fire started on the side of the road next to the morning food zone. The ground floor sells fish and fresh food. The fire then quickly spread to the second floor. Vendors rushed to move their belongings out of the market in chaos. Firefighters sprayed water from all sides of the fresh market. It took more than 1 hour to bring the fire under control. After the fire was extinguished, it was found that the house where the fire started was completely destroyed. Fortunately, no one was i
njured.

Ms. Maninuch, 74 years old, the owner of the house, said that the house was built next to Mae Ramad fresh market for more than 30 years. At the time of the incident, she was downstairs in the house and heard a sound like an electrical short circuit near the Buddha room on the second floor. A few minutes later, there was a large amount of smoke. Because the house was made of old wood and was a good fuel, the fire spread quickly. They had to flee for their lives amidst the chaos throughout the fresh market.

Ms. Netlamai, 47, the daughter of the owner of the house, quickly inspected the valuables and found that the second floor had been badly damaged by the fire. However, the 1 million baht cash kept on the headboard of the bedroom was not burnt but was soaked in water from the fire extinguishing.

Mae Ramat Police Station initially assumed that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit, but they have to wait for the Tak Provincial Forensic Science Division to come and investigate to find the
real cause of the fire.
