Flash Floods Sever Wiang Sa District, Isolating Hundreds of Villagers

Wiang sa: Heavy rain has led to the destruction of the Ban Sali-Wanaprai bridge in the Wiang Sa District, Nan Province, resulting in the isolation of hundreds of villagers. The flash floods have left these residents without access to the outside world, electricity, or phone signals.

According to Thai News Agency, the heavy rain has caused flooding in several districts, including Mae Charim, Wiang Sa, and Na Noi. While the water has receded in many areas, authorities remain vigilant. The collapse of the Ban Sali-Wanaprai bridge in the Nam Muap Subdistrict has particularly affected more than 40 households, leaving them cut off from essential services and travel routes.

The governor of Nan Province has been informed of the dire situation, and efforts are underway to provide relief. The Subdistrict Administrative Organization is working on creating a temporary detour road for motorcycles. Although the general situation is improving, some areas remain susceptible to flooding. The Department of Rural Roads will undertake necessary improvements to restore travel access.
