Bangkok: The Ministry of Transport has outlined the flood situation affecting its network as of July 31, 2025, and has directed the Department of Highways and the Department of Rural Roads to mobilize personnel for assistance to affected individuals and to closely monitor the situation. The Ministry aims to expedite restoration and clean-up efforts immediately after the water recedes.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department reported heavy rain in several regions of Thailand, impacting seven northern provinces, including Lampang, Phrae, Nan, Tak, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun. Additionally, eight northeastern provinces such as Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, and Nakhon Phanom, along with three eastern provinces, including Nakhon Nayok, have also been affected.
The road transport network has experienced significant disruptions, with a total of 189 locations affected between July 1 and July 31, 2025. Among these, 18 locations remain impassable, including 152 highways and eight areas in three provinces. In Chiang Rai Province, several highways have been reported as impassable, impacting areas such as Ban Sai Thong Subdistrict and Tap Tao Subdistrict. Nan Province and Sukhothai Province have also seen road closures, with notable disruptions in Phu Kha Subdistrict and Thani Subdistrict, respectively.
Rural roads have faced challenges as well, with 37 locations affected, and 10 places currently impassable across two provinces. In Nan Province, regions such as Saen Thong Subdistrict and Muang Chang Subdistrict have been impacted. Phrae Province has also reported disruptions in areas like Thung Laeng Subdistrict and Thung Khaeo Subdistrict.
The Ministry of Transport, alongside the Marine Department, the Department of Highways, and the Department of Rural Roads, has been actively working to address the situation. Officials have been deployed to facilitate traffic, install warning signs, and conduct necessary repairs. Temporary road repairs and the installation of road posts in impassable areas are underway. In addition to infrastructure efforts, the Ministry has provided food and water to affected individuals and is closely monitoring the situation to respond promptly once water levels recede.
