Bangkok: Phra Nitat, a former close monk of the abbot of Wat Muang, has taken significant steps by presenting top secret evidence to ‘Big Tao’, amidst ongoing tensions with Chao Khun Narong, the abbot of Wat Muang. Phra Nitat claims to possess crucial knowledge regarding the history of the abbot and asserts that the money and gold in question are not missing. However, ‘Big Tao’ has yet to respond, indicating the need to examine the evidence and verify the information brought forth by Phra Nitat.
According to Thai News Agency, Phra Nitat, who previously served as the abbot’s secretary, visited the Central Investigation Bureau to hand over this sensitive evidence to Pol. Maj. Gen. Charoenkiat Pankaew, the deputy commander of the Central Investigation Bureau. Despite facing mobility challenges due to an infected leg from diabetes, Phra Nitat expressed his readiness to share all relevant evidence and witness accounts that shed light on the abbot’s history.
The specifics of the police inquiry remain undisclosed, yet Phra Nitat anticipates questions that have already been addressed in the media, along with new matters of interest. When asked about the alleged disappearance of the abbot’s money and gold, Phra Nitat firmly stated, “It’s not missing. It’s probably not missing.” He acknowledged his direct conflict with the abbot as the reason for providing this information to the authorities.
Luang Phi Num, a former secretary of the abbot and current associate of Phra Nitat, mentioned that the evidence is primarily verbal, as the absence of cameras limits tangible proof. He emphasized that the police would need to evaluate the statements provided. Luang Phi Num clarified that he had no close ties with the abbot nor was he involved in the conflict, although he admitted to having sought benefits for the abbot in the past.
Pol. Lt. Col. Charoonkiat noted that Phra Nitat initiated this meeting with the police, and while the evidence’s status as top secret remains unconfirmed, it holds potential significance. Further discussions with Phra Nitat are planned to ascertain the details.
Additionally, Pol. Lt. Col. Prasong Chalermphan, Commander of the Suppression of Corruption and Misconduct Division, will participate in today’s session to review Phra Nitat’s information.
