Gang Arrested for Stealing Confiscated Rosewood; More Arrests Expected.

Sakon Nakhon: Police have successfully apprehended ‘Sergeant Theptawan’, one of the five individuals implicated in a high-profile robbery involving confiscated rosewood. He is currently undergoing interrogation at the Waritchaphum Police Station in Sakon Nakhon Province.

According to Thai News Agency, the arrest of Sergeant Theptawan, also known as Art, marks a significant breakthrough in the case of the robbers who targeted the rosewood forest. The theft took place along the Wang Sam Mo-Waritchaphum road in Nong Kung Thap Ma Subdistrict, Wang Sam Mo District, Udon Thani Province. Art is now facing questioning at the Waritchaphum Police Station as authorities work to unravel the details of the operation.

Sergeant Theptawan previously worked at the Forest Protection Unit, Police Station 2, for approximately one year. This is notably the same location where the rosewood was stolen. At present, he is employed at the Sri That Unit in Udon Thani Province. Following his arrest, his superiors have temporarily susp
ended him from duty. Additionally, law enforcement agencies have issued arrest warrants for two more individuals believed to be involved in the gang.
