General Prawit Wongsuwan Celebrates 80th Birthday with Royal Forest Conservation Initiative

Bangkok: General Prawit Wongsuwan, leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, marked his 80th birthday by opening the Five Provinces Border Forest Conservation Foundation, expressing his commitment to both conservation efforts and the wellbeing of innocent citizens affected by regional conflicts.

According to Thai News Agency, the celebration took place on August 11, 2025, where General Prawit was surrounded by well-wishers from various sectors. Among those present were General Chitsanupong Rodsiri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, and Lt. Gen. Amorn Bunsuya, Commander of the First Army Area, who conveyed their best wishes on behalf of the military. The event was attended by military officials, police officers, and politicians, reflecting General Prawit’s influential role in Thai politics.

In a statement marked by humility and concern, General Prawit remarked on his age, acknowledging that while he may not possess the vigor of youth, his dedication to his country remains steadfast. He expressed particular concern for the innocent civilians residing in border provinces, who continue to suffer from ongoing conflicts. General Prawit shared that he frequently visits these areas to support affected individuals and to boost the morale of soldiers stationed on the front lines, underscoring his enduring commitment to national service.
