Gia Lai: The Central Highlands province of Gia Lai’s Steering Committee 515 recently held a send-off ceremony for the provincial military command’s K52 search team, which has been deployed to Cambodia. The team’s mission is to locate and repatriate the remains of Vietnamese soldiers who died during wartime. This operation is scheduled to take place between now and the end of the 2025 dry season.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the K52 search team will be divided into multiple units to conduct their search across Cambodia’s northeastern provinces of Preah Vihear, Stung Treng, and Ratanakiri. This marks the 24th deployment of the team to the neighboring country. Over the past 23 years, the team has successfully recovered and repatriated the remains of 1,489 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts.
