Government Announces National Mother’s Day Celebrations on August 12, 2025

Bangkok: The government has extended an invitation to government agencies and departments across the country to partake in National Mother’s Day activities on August 12, 2025, in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother’s birthday.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, the spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, announced plans for several events to mark this occasion. The government will organize Buddhist chanting and alms-giving ceremonies, a royal tribute, a wreath-laying ceremony, and a candle-lighting ceremony at Sanam Luang to offer blessings to Her Majesty. The public is also encouraged to join in activities arranged by various agencies nationwide to express their gratitude for the Queen Mother’s contributions to the Thai people.

In light of these celebrations, the Cabinet Secretariat (CSC) has decided to cancel the Cabinet meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, August 12. The meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
