Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Finance aims to provide government-funded Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) scholarship to one thousand people for the medical specialist study program in 2024, Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara stated here on Monday.This scholarship provision is one of the programs within the National Priority 3 (PN 3) to increase the number of quality and competitive human resources. The ministry established cooperation with the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) to realize the PN 3, Nazararemarked. In addition to the LPDP scholarship, he said, PN 3 encompasses the provision of Ultra Micro (UMi) financing facility, with the target of 2.2 million micro businesses. It also involves economic exploration in villages through state-owned village enterprises (BUMDes), with the target of two thousand villages, he added. The national priorities directly mandated toward the ministry comprise PN 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. PN 1 involves strengthening economic resiliency to encourage quality and just growth with 14 projects. PN 2 entails developing regions to reduce gap and ensure equality with four projects. PN 3 aims to develop quality and competitive human resources through five projects. PN 5 involves strengthening infrastructure to support economic development and basic services with five projects. PN 6 concerns developing the environment and improving resiliency against disasters and climate change with two projects. PN 7 involves strengthening political and legal stability as well as transforming public services through two projects. The distribution of LPDP scholarship had been included as one of the 553 activity spending within the Ministry of Finance’s Management Support for Fiscal Year 2024. Within its draft, the ministry has proposed an indicative ceiling of Rp45.49 trillion, or around US$3.06 million, for the Management Support Program toward the House of Representatives’ (DPR’s) Commission XI.
